Livestock Show Information
Friday July 5th
*Exhibitors do NOT need to be in 4-H or Clover Kids*
Times: 12pm– Sheep/ Goats check-in
*Market Sheep will be weighed for class determination*
1pm– Goat Show
Sheep Show to follow immediately after Goat Show
4pm– Bucket Calves and Swine check-in
*Market Hogs will be weighed for class determination*
5pm –Swine Show
Bucket Calf Show to follow Swine Show
Saturday July 6th
All livestock must be on grounds Saturday by 8am.
Times: 9am Beef Breeding, with Dairy and Market Steer shows to follow in that order
Exhibitors participating in the livestock shows are reminded to have all registration forms and fees postmarked by June 21st.

General Rules
LIVESTOCK EXHIBITORS
- All exhibitors must be pre-registered. All food animal exhibitors need to have
completed the Show Me Quality Assurance to be eligible to show. All advance
registrations must be mailed by Friday, June 21, to Alex Meyer at
3139 Highway Y New Haven MO 63068 - Sheep and Goats must be in place by the designated time on the day of the
show. They will be released between 7:30 and 10:00pm on the evening of the
show. The exact time will be determined by the Livestock Committee and
announced that evening. No haul-out trailers during the show. - Swine, Beef, and Dairy Cattle must be in place by the designated time on the
day of the show. They will be released as soon as possible after the show, with
the exact time to be determined by the Livestock Committee. Stall area must be
cleaned before animals are removed from the fair grounds. Premiums will be
forfeited if exhibits are removed before the release time, or if stall area is
not cleaned. Any animal deemed unmanageable by the Livestock
Committee before, during, or after the show will be required to leave the
grounds. - Read health requirements.
- The New Haven Youth Fair Livestock shows are open to anyone up to 18 years
old. - Animals exhibited must be owned and shown by the exhibitor. If an exhibitor
has more than one exhibit in a class, the exhibitor may recruit another youth
exhibitor to show one of the animals. - Bedding for livestock must be provided by the exhibitor.
- Judging will be based on the Danish System; all exhibits will receive a blue, red,
or white ribbon. Prize money will be awarded based on the ribbon received. - Livestock exhibitors must use Livestock Entry Form.
- Exhibitors will be limited to two entries per single animal class and one entry
per group class. - A stall fee of $5.00 per animal for beef, dairy, sheep, goats, swine. Stall fee may
be paid in cash or check. Checks are payable to the New Haven Youth Fair. - No trophy will be given unless there are two or more animals within a breed.
- Showmanship trophies will be awarded in the age divisions below for Beef,
Swine, Sheep/Goat. Contestants must exhibit animals on their own.
a. Youth Showmanship – Contestants must exhibit animals on their own. – Up
to 10 years as of Jan. 1, 2024
b. Intermediate Showmanship – age 11-14 as of Jan. 1, 2024
c. Senior Showmanship – age 15-18 as of Jan. 1, 2024
d. Must be 2 exhibitors before trophy is awarded.
